Lupine

Lupine (Lupinus arcticus) a.k.a. arctic lupine.
These are perennials, my favorite kind of flower, only have to plant them once and enjoy for years to come.
A bloom from my garden, taken early this evening.
I really like the structure and the colors of these flowers.

Maxxum 7D, @135mm, f5.6, 1/60sec., ISO 100, HH, full frame.

Pretty blooms, but the chopped off leaves LHS bugs me.

Really beautiful. The colors are fantastic - and the deep yellow-green backdrop works nicely to offset the lupine.

George, this is a great shot. I agree about the LH leaves being cut off. However the BG is fantastic and more than makes up for the leaves.
