The Great Eastern Sierras

Last Saturday morning took a look at the NOAA weather site and thought, well, it looks like it might be interesting in the Eastern Sierras. Threw the camping gear in the car and went for it. It did "cook off" at sunset into something interesting, indeed.
This is one of many shots I took, this one is IR with a Sony 707. My Mamiya battery was dead, of course, so I also took a bunch of panos with both the Sony and Canon to make higher-res versions. this is looking south from the Mammoth area.

Wow, what drama in the skies! Would love to see the color versions. Makes me want to move back to Bishop.

Cool shot! That is some sky.I like the composition and the shadow in the foreground. It really provides depth to the image. I would also like to see a color version of this.
