Bavarian Castles

Castle Hohenschwangau in the foreground was built around 1835 and Castle Neuschwanstein in the background at the end of the same century by the Bavarian Kings Max and Ludwig. They knew where the landscape is fascinating.

Bernd,

Beautifully composed. I love the branch hanging over the top pointing directly to the castle in the distance. The splash of color from the castle is a beautiful contrast to the monochrome colors. Very, very well done. :jump:

Hans:

This is a beautiful image. The dusting of snow, the thick forest, the fog that somewhat hides the castle in the BG...it all comes together so well. I also wonder about whether you can slide to the left a little and compose vertically as to get all of the light in the lower left in the image (and still have the FG castle, the BG castle, etc.)

This is a wonderful image. The near far comp is enhanced by the far castle lacking color. Excellent work.

Really excellent composition, killer sharpness. The structure in the FG almost looks hand-tinted in what appears to be an otherwise completely monochrome image.

Well done.
