Frost II

Just one more and last frost on the window post. It is spring, after all. This one was taken a little earlier at sunrise than the last one. It's darker, less vibrant in color, but I think I prefer this.

This is "as is" almost. No Photoshop enhancement short of sharpening and cloning out a small distracting spot on the left.

What are your thoughts?

Thank you.

Beautiful, Will. What causes the purple colour?

Thank you for the nice comments.

Marsel, the colors are from the sunrise. Thank you for asking.

Very nice texture and colour, the little splash of light adds to the image.

William, this rocks! Excellent. My wife just walked by and said: "Wow, that's pretty damn awesome!"

I think this is the best of the bunch so far.

I would like it just a tad lighter. It loses some detail, at least on my monitor.

At more northern latitudes the sunlight angles through more of earth's atmosphere. The particles in it cause absorption of some of the light in sunlight and scatter others. The result is light that is purple or red. I have often got shots of this kind of light where entire frozen lakes are blood red or lavendar. This is one of the reasons I love living in the North. The light gets better and better the further north you go!

Excellent eye, Will. I bet it was fun searching all the little ice formations for different compositions.

WOW, Will! The frost in this image reminds me of the plumage of a bird. My favorite of these, so far! :toast:

Will,
I was going to say this rocks, but David beat me to it. Anyway the detail is awesome and reminds me of bird feathers also. What sets this apart though, is the couple of highlights from the sunrise.
