Canon 1D-X, 500mm x 2.0 teleconverter, handheld from truck window
f20, 1/1600, ISO1600, custom WB

I think she was flirting with me. Or world-weary. She was across the Blitzen River from me, and gave me a nice selection of looks over the course of 15 minutes. It was clear but very smokey. I used a custom white balance and raised the contrast to try and minimize the haze and orange/yellow light, but it is still noticeable.

Full frame. Slight sharpening of the animal.

C & C, please. Thanks for looking.

Nice pose on this guy, Jim. Your post-processing looks good to me. "What big ears you have" enlightened

I assume the smoke haze is from the California wildfires. You did a great job minimizing it.

Beautiful shot, Jim. I like how she blends in so well with her environment. Super sharp, and to be handheld from a truck window, with a total of 1000mm, you sure have a steady hand! Nicely done. She is a beauty, so you should be pleased that she was flirting with you! enlightened
