Here's a prickly pear bloom in our Montana yard last June.  This is a 7 shot stack to get both the bloom and the bud sharp.  (5D3, 180mm macro L, 1/160 s, f/13, iso 200, tripod)

Gorgeous bloom here on this one, Mark. Not sure I've ever seen a cactus with a yellow flower out in the wild. Plenty of pink and reds, but can't say one with a nice yellow bloom. I like the inclusion of the blossom cycle between the lower immature green bud, the upper red advancing bud and of course the full open flower too. The flower pistil is in perfect focus and adds nicely to the blossom.

Mark: Beautiful subject and a fine capture. I might like a touch more room for the main subject but this works well as is. Nicely done.>=))>
