Excellent, Sandy.  The larger image really shows off the fine detail and depth of field is perfect.  I also like the background a lot.

Great look at this colorful longspur, Sandy. I really like the perch with lichen, the curious pose of the subject and how you have composed the image.

Very interesting pose and I really like the perch.  Superb background.  Seems a tiny bit soft in the larger view.  Is this a large crop?

Yes, quite a large crop. These guys are only the size of sparrows and kind of skittish.

Very pretty, Sandy. The detail of the large crop looks great. And what's interesting is that the "rainbow" gradient effect with a big crop works well in the framing. The bit of gold lichen is an appealing feature. Quite nicely executed. My own curiosity wants to know what it's looking for enlightened.

If you've ever camped where Lappies are courting, you know how incredibly noisy and persistent they can be. You've captured the essence of the male very nicely. The image holds up pretty well for the heavy crop.

If you want *lots* of Lappies, visit the Yukon Delta NWR in late May...

A great capture with excellent coordinated colors, Sandy!  It survived the large crop quite well and has a unique pose and environment.
