My friend forgot one bit of garbage when she was setting out the garbage cans, and went back inside for a second to get it.
This is what she found when she returned.
I'm quite surprised that bear-proof garbage cans are not required here - there are brown and black bears EVERYwhere.

This is rapidly becoming more of a problem here in Colorado, even down here in the metro areas of Colorado Springs. I am careful with my garbage, but a bear destroyed most of my bird feeders at the cabin several weeks ago. People don't realized that feeding bears, intentional or otherwise can result in their having to be put down.
