I really liked the action and energy in this one and how the dark background streaks worked with the wings.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600 mm, tripod with ball head and Sidekick, f/8, 1/1600, iso 2500, aperture priority, pattern metering, -1 1/3 EV.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped to 10.3 MP from a horizontal original.  Taken July 20th at 9:22 am under cloudy skies.

I appreciate all your comments and critiques.

Thanks,

Fine timing and fun shot, and I agree about the energetic BG, Dennis. Great detail where it counts considering the crop from horizontal.

Hi Dennis,

The head is nice and sharp and the wing blur looks fine.  Overall, a pleasing image of one of my enigma species from my Oregon trip.  Well done......................Jim

Very nice action shot even though he is perched, Dennis.  Looks like he is about to take off.  Great timing and capture.  Details are really great, and I like the motion blur of his tail and wings.

Neat pose.  Nice wing action while maintaining sharpness in the face.  Good perch and background.
