A weekend venture took a few of us to a less-traveled canyon to experience the rain, lightning, rainbows and muddy roads.

Beautiful stormy landscape, Doug. The warm light in the canyon really makes this special.

Hi Doug,

Looks very nice. I think that  the dark gray sky brings out those warm tones perfectly.  I can't really judge your comp adequately and will defer to the more experienced landscape photography critics.  As is, I like the image as presented.

Unusual looking rocks and great blue and orange colors. The lightning really makes the shot. I like the foreground larger rock in the bottom center.

Looks great Doug, I wouldn't change or recommend anything to enhance it, looks great at is it. The processing is natural, the composition is perfect - well executed, I do envy lightening shots like this... That combined with those candy swirled canyon walls really do make this is banging image.

I'm just sat in Kanab eating breakfast having spent the night out at White Pocket in a storm, I so wish I had a lightening trigger, I might invest in one for the next trip...

Doug, This is really nice and one of those that works much better in the larger version. The lightning strike sure adds the drama to the scene and it just looks great. I too might crop a little of the sky. Nice work!

That is one amazing location and you have showcased it here in such style. In my humble opinion the drama offered by the weather conditions nicely complement the raw beauty of this desolate canyon.

Awesome job on this one Doug.
