Breaking Rules

In the same fashion as one of David Schoen's recent posts, this just didn't seem to work without the Wilson's Warbler being in the upper right and facing out of the frame.  I hope it's small enough in the frame so that it's not feeling crowded.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600 mm, hand held propped on car windowsill, f/8, 1/1000, iso 640, aperture priority, pattern metering, -1 EV.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped to 11.9 MP.  Taken at 7:20 pm on June 6th near Nome, Alaska.

Comments and critiques are appreciated.

Note:  The large image was corrupted on upload.  There doesn't appear to be a means of replacing it once comments are made.  Sorry.

Thanks,

I like the light and complimentary BG Dennis. Nice work!
On a side note, when I open the large view, the file is messed up or corrupted. Might want to replace it.

Rules are there to disobey enlightened, the proof is in this image ! Love it Dennis, enough space around the bird, not too crowded imho. Love it! Hans

Although somewhat counter to conventional framing, Dennis, this is nicely composed to include the whole top of the branch. And the overall colors work well with the bird and perch.

This works as composed with the out-looking bird at the focal point.  Nice pose and head turn.

I like the composition.  I think this works because the bird's head is turned towards the open end of the frame.  Well done.

Beautiful - sure better than  * I * got!
The comp is just fine to me, and I'm not much for un-bendable rules. What looks good to YOUR eye is what you should post.
Sorry about the larger image corruption  - but you can still see that it's tack-sharp, great colors, light and pose, and lovely BG.
Sweet image!

Excellent light and I like the perch quite a bit.  I have no problem with this composition.  The background is complementary and looks superb.
