Musk Ox male, Anvil mountain, Nome, Alaska
There was often a very strong, freezing wind - even in June - blowing across the ice.
(Shot from car - TOO cold)

It does appear to be a bit windy, according to his fir movement.  Nice wildlife capture, Sandy.

Hi Sandy,

Looks like the musk ox is savoring this cool wind.  Eye is nice and sharp and the wind blown fur provide excellent details for your story behind the photo................................Jim

Looks like it's in hurricane force winds.
Sweet image of this cool animal.  One of those on my bucket list.  Congrats Sandy!

Nice capture, Sandy!  With the long hair swept back and the disproportionate front end loading of a Musk Ox, it really looks like it's leaning into the wind!  Of course it would have to be blowing REALLY hard for a Musk Ox to have to lean in to it.

Sandy: this is an excellent environmental capture and one that shows what the living conditions are like. I really like the details in th coat and how the coat shows the ferocity of the wind. Wall Hanger. Richard

What a hairdo!  This is a really cool picture that really emphasizes the harsh environment these animals live in; even in summer.  Well done Sandy.
