Foxy Lady

We saw a nice red fox in Alaska, but she was too far away for a good shot. She made me think of these old fox images from Nova Scotia, so I re-edited one with - hopefully - better editing skills than long ago.
Couldn't avoid the centering, as she was so close to the car and I had only one lens available.
Eva McD will remember this from 8 years ago!

Beautiful portrait of this red fox, Sandy!  The details in the eyes and fir is really great.  I love the deep red fir against the greenery.  Very nice.  For me, the composition works well.

Guess I missed this first time around. Funny how so often the critters are too far, then suddenly almost too close - go figure. I like that your longish landscape crop worked well with the pose. The eye contact and natural catch light worked quite well for you here.

Sandy, this is a great image. Great eye contact and sharpness. The color really pops and the face of the fox is not in the middle of the image which is where the eye will go first.

Wonderful detail Sandy and I especially love your focus on the eyes.  The color and contrast are excellent.  I certainly remember this image and the one you captured of the yawning fox with the porcupine quill in its tongue.

That one will also be re-worked and re-posted. It's a favorite too. S

I don't see anything wrong with the centering.  The subject is stationary and staring straight at us, so there's no need to include more canvas to the left (if that's what you're implying).  Plus, the fox creates a nice diagonal that bisects the image, so the proportions and composition really work here.

Compelling image with great eye contact !
If this was mine, I would reduce the blacks.
