Duncan Creek

Hi everyone,  Its been a while since I have pursued photography, (roughly two years), and even longer since I have been on the forums.  I'm hoping to regain inspiration to shoot again after my absence by seeing everyone's wonderful work here!  In the meantime, I have a large body of work to share before I lost the interest to shoot.

This is a shot taken along Duncan Creek in Washington.

Taken with Canon 5D Mark II and 24-70L at 25mm
5 seconds at f/22

This is beautiful, Ned.  The long exposure works for this scene with the way that the water flow radiates into the foreground.  The deep shadows make the vibrant greens stand out in the composition.  I'm sure the shadows would open up in a larger size image.  Very nicely done!  devil

You've returned with a nice image, Ned. Love those Washington state "greens". The image looks a little dark to me. Could be my display though. My brother always tells me it's dark, but I have the brightness @ 80 %.

This is very nice, Ned.  As presented it is pretty dark.  You can now post and image with 1600 pixels on the long side.  At that size the shadows would probably be fine.  I tend to like the longer exposures, well done.

Welcome back, Ned. The greens in this scene are lush and rich making for a very inviting image. The slightly darker mood here adds an air of mystery to this, but I would be curious to see this with the shadows opened up just a touch for comparison. Anyway I look forward to more of your posts and comments.

Thanks for the feedback!  I do agree about the darkness of this image.  In cases of printing, I usually make some brightness and shadow adjustments for details, and the prints are sometimes darker that I anticipate.  Here is a 1600 pixel example with adjustments made.

Hi Ned!  Great to see you posting again.  This is a lovely scene, especially the repost.  Well done!

Ned, Nice seeing pictures from you again and I do hope you regain your interest. The larger reposted file works very nice for me and does have more shadow detail. I love the lush feel of the greens and especially all of the moss. Very nice! cool

Welcome back, I recognized the name....
I sure like how you did this one. Moving water can be done so many ways, and the blurred effect here works really well with the comp, I think. This has a "feeling," and is not just an image... I just get the feeling of the water almost exploding into the pool. Nice one.
