Western Bluebird

Our resident pair of Bluebirds fledged their first brood shortly after we left for Nome a few weeks ago. At least two of the fledglings have been hanging around the area and provided a couple good photo sessions for me. I particularlyliked the feather patterns on the back of this one, as well as the quizzical look.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600 mm, hand held, f/8, 1/800, iso 800, aperture priority, pattern metering, -2/3 EV. Processed in LR & PS CC. Cropped to 13.1 MP. Taken at 7:04 pm on June 17th.

I like the head turn and the blue in the wings and tail. Excellent detail. Nice diagonal perch and sweet background.

Excellent pose from this beauty. I love the back views of birds, showing the rear back and wing patterns.
The touch of blue coming out is perfect.

Dennis this is a very nice image, I like the tilt of his head just so... The blue edge feathers are a nice contrast to his darker brown back.
