"On the Rocks with a Splash of Salt"

Stellar Sea Lions hauled up on the rocks at Glacier Island, Prince William Sound, Alaska.  A strong surf made for a more interesting photo but also made it more difficult to shoot from the moving boat.

Sony a6500, Sony FE 100-400 GM @ 400 mm, ISO-200, f/5.6, 1/1600, hand held.

A lot going on in this image.  I like how you caught the surge of the water and how the sea lions seemed to be reacting to it.  This photo needs to be seen large for the best results.  Also, wonder if the male on the far left was cropped out the photo would be more focused on the group.  Thanks for sharing.

Great title and great shot! Love the way the sea lions are backed up against the detailed rocks. You can see that they are starting to talk about leaving. Also, the wave is in a perfect spot and I love the clear color of the water.

I find this to be very pleasing.  View large!  I see no technical nits and I like the poses of the group on the rock, accented by the curl of the breaking wave.  It makes me want to see if you could find a crop that would move the main lion left and crop out the lone left side individual, perhaps by removing some of the near water (not too much) and some of the top.  That is not a criticism of this comp, but I think you might find more emphasis of the leans of poses, matching the curl of the wave.  Still, fine as posted.
