Nikon D200 f/16, 48 mm, 1/6 second, Iso 100. Trickiest part was crawling on my belly and placing camera on a rock to get the stable shot. Took this from viewpoint of right at bottom water edge. Taken in Custer State Park South Dakota

This is a nice perspective and overall wonderful waterfall, Jan. The fallen tree stump actually is a nice addition to the scene IMO. This site looks like it could garner some revisits for more options if you're local to this park.......laugh
As for any thoughts of improvement it looks like some of the cascade highlights are too intense and washed out. I might also check the rotation a bit with a grid as it seems to be tipped slightly right, but it could be an optical thing with all the cascades here. No big issues at all just worth a second look there........cool

Jan, This is a great looking falls and I too like what the log adds to the scene. This comp also works quite nice and I'm enjoying the rippled water in the foreground and the texture it has. I do agree with Paul about the highlights but it doesn't stop me from enjoying this one. cool

This reminds me of Crabtree Falls along the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina due to the fallen log at that angle.  Overall, this is nicely done.  One suggestion that I have would be to crop out a bit of the foreground, but that is a matter of taste.  I even find myself going back and forth on that suggestion so you might try it and see what you think.

I like the texture and brightness contrasts between the cascades and the ripples on the foreground waters.  A suggestion may be to crop off the darker cascade of water along the top edge.
