Peek a Bee

This cactus flower was hiding someone.  This was taken at the Palo Alto Battlefield in Southern Texas.  I was attracted to the beautiful Opuntia bloom and then noticed it had a visitor.  Canon 60D, iso 200, f10, 1/400 sec, -0.7 EV, 100-400 ISLii at 400 mm, cropped to about 70% of original. Selective work with shadows, sharpening, dodging and burning.

The "visitor" peeking out is a great detail, Ed.  The flower's sharpness is good and there's enough detail in the nearby spines to show off the "ouch".  The buds in the background add well to the environment.

Great shot, Ed, and I love the title as well.  He really is peaking out of the flower, like he wasn't sure if you were friend or foe.
