The old house

Taken with a Nikon D5300 and wide angle 11-16mm lens at f11, converted to black and white using Nik Silver Efex Pro and Photoshop. It's my first photo upload, so be gentle! The famous white cliffs of the Seven Sisters are behind me, but this shot presents a slightly different view than the postcard shot.

Welcome to NPN, Simon! A good first effort. I love silver efex for b/w conversion. The composition looks good, and the dynamic range seems to have been kept in bounds. A round of mild noise reduction in the land area would be of benefit. Also the halo at the join between the land structures and and the sky are a deficit. A small blur brush along the edges would tone the haloing down considerably.

Welcome aboard and nice first post! Due to the predominance of the hand of man, I am moving this to the Man & Nature gallery, but great to see you here and looking forward to seeing more of your work and reading your feedback!

Nice shot. The B&W conversion works well. Also like the pano format.

Nice first post Simon.  I like the B&W treatment. Lots of drama in the sky.  Welcome to NPN.
