Canon 1D-X, 500mm x 1.4TC, tripod
f11, 1/640, ISO500

Over the course of more than half an hour, this was the furthest this guy came out of the brush.

80% of full frame. Slight adjustment to Levels. Selective sharpening of bird.

C&C, please. Thanks for looking.

Nice Jim.  Larger version really shows it off.

Another excellent image.  The color and detail are superb.  The bird stands out exceedingly well against the somewhat complicated background.  I've never seen one of these in my area, although this is the edge of their range.

Nice capture of a shy and beautiful bird.
I'm on the laptop, but from here it looks a tad bright, and that little blip of fuzzy grass over the head is a little distracting.
Still, a keeper for sure.

Congrats on getting this guy Jim. Nice detail in the bird and the composition shows the bird well in a very busy area. Very nicely presented.

Looks like he came out far enough, Jim.  Excellent image.  I'm particularly fond of the spray of in-focus leaves above and left-it balances the image nicely.

That's some amazing blue color on that bird, Jim!  Very good job of focusing on it despite all the brush.  Speaking of the brush, I really like it in this image.  It gives it a good sense of environment yet the bird still stands out.  Nicely shot and processed!
