Stone Steps

This is an intimate look at the sandstones of northern AZ from an early February trip. I find it simple and understated.

Please have a look at the large version. In the small, the color and detail fade quite a bit.

Simple is usually better. Love the stair-stepping in the rock patterns.

Yeah, where's the leprechaun climbing those stair?...  Love the shape, comp. and the details.  Great job of seeing, Harley.

Harley, although the Stone Steps works as an interesting title aspect visually, I'm enjoying the geological crafting with all the layers here. When you see the amount of generational layers associated with a view like this it has a humbling effect on a short life cycle and a singular generation of mankind. Amazing thoughts on that overall perspective.....enlightened
Another very well seen and captured intimate take from this area...laugh

Definitely better color and detail in the larger version Harley.  I like this a lot especially the touch of blue.

Very cool stuff here, Harley. When opening the large version I was greeted with a wonderful array of colors, textures and details. Great eye to spot this miniature landscape.

Harley,

The texture, color, and details are quite nice and the step patterns/lines are fascinating.  Overall though, not keeping my interest for too long, relative to most of your other images and work.

Wonderful textures and colors especially in the large version. The strata instantly reminded me of Pictured Rocks along the Lake Superior coastline.  There is virtually no depth of field involved in capturing them and I suspect in your Stone Steps either.
