Sandy:

A very nice calling pose for this guy.  Perch, background, bird all compliment each other.  When I opened the large image I was expecting to see some great details in the plumage, but I didn't.  The image is a bit soft and overall detail is just not there.  Can't imagine the specifics of why whether it is in capture or post processing.

Classic pose of a species rarely seen by us west coasters.  Perch, background, and singing pose all look great.  Thanks for posting.  Dave

I always thought this a funny name for a bird. Regardless, really nice image. Love the creamy background. I do believe that you could go a bit brighter on this one. Well done.

Ok, please see the larger version here:  https://www.naturescapes.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=277510
Don't know what is going on. Will re-edit as soon as possible.

Hi Sandy:

I took a look at your image posted on Naturescapes.  I pulled two windows up side by side:  NPN and Naturescapes:

Here's the screenshot.  The only difference I see is the larger version on NPN is larger.  I still don't see the level of detail that would make me happy if this were my image.  Not sure what you are seeing and asking.  All the colors, etc. look the same on both sites

NS image looks much clearer from here, on my calibrated Dell Ultra-sharp 32 inch.
At any rate, will try again for NPN!

Hi Sandy

I review images on a calibrated 27 inch 5K display. Take a good look at the plumage on the lower white breast, All of the darker back feathers and the face, even the yellow breast in the front. I would expect to be able to see individual feather  detail and it’s just not there on this image. If you’d like me to take a look at the Raw file and process that I would be happy to do so. Contact me off-line.

Great signing pose and perch with a sweet soft background, Sandy.  Excellent.

Lovely Sandy. The background and vibrant colors on the bird offers up a terrific composition.

This is a nice image.  Terrific pose and background. A very cool bird.
I would also expect to see more detail in the larger image.  It's not very noisy so I don't think the iso 1250 is an issue especially with the D850.  My guess is you are shooting at 600 mm with the Sigma sport and my experience with this lens is that it loses sharpness above 550 mm.  When I look at the small image and enlarge it by clicking on it it does appear to be a tiny bit sharper than the larger image.  I am looking at this on a calibrated 27 inch ASUS Pro Art monitor  2560 x 1440.

Nice pose and complimentary BG Sandy! I don't have one of these in my files either, so congrats!
