Skip, it's pure luck and persistence. The angle of the sun has to be exactly perfect or the helmet and gorgets appear just  dull black. Keep trying!

Which back yard, Sandy?  Given the mist, I'd bet on Oregon.  I like the composition and you caught that tongue a long way out.  Beautiful gorget.

Great color in this image, the BG works well sets the hummer off nicely.  The extended tongue does add to the photo.  wish we had those back here.  Thanks for sharing.

Hi Sandy,

Nice lighting for showing off those colors.  Head around the eyes is tack sharp and the mist is an added bonus.  Have you tried any more with a smaller aperture?  Well done.............................Jim
