Here's a multi-flash hummingbird shot from our Costa Rica workshop.  This is a large hummingbird.
Canon 1DX II, 300F4 1/200 F20, iso 1000, Gitzo tripod, Wimberley head, multi-flash setup

Nate, this is really impressive. I see you got a little of the tongue showing. Not only expert use of flashes, but f20 worked well to get it all in focus. I have one minor suggestion. There is a slight bit of sharpening halo at the high contrast edges. I know there are other methods using selective layers etc., but I usually just pass along those with a very small softening brush. Very nice image, and it's obvious how big this guy is.

I love the way it looks like the hummingbird is just hanging there below the flower.  Love the vivid colors and plain background which makes the flower and bird really stand out!  Beautiful.

This is awesome.  Thank you for sharing this photo of a bird I will probably never see.  Great Capture!

Exceptional - love the dark colours, position and bright flower. As usual, perfect use of the multi-flash setup. (Remember thr first time we tried to set it up?  lol..)

Very nice Nate. Could be me, but I don’t see any halo effects. I like this as posted.devil

Wonderful colors in the Hummingbird, Nate and they're very well caught and presented.  My eye keeps trying to line the hummer up with the flower, but I know they don't always do it that way.  Sweet image.

A very nice image of a very impressive bird.  I especially like the detail of the white feathers in the tail.

Excellent Nate!  You really have this technique down. The colors are amazing and we normally see hummers posted showing wing blur, which is great but it's nice to see them sharp sometimes too. Beautiful image!  devil
