Double-crested Cormorant

I was reviewing some images in my folders and came across this high key Double-crested Cormorant shot I took at La Jolla, California when I was shooting with Charlie VanTassel a few years ago.  The bird is in peak breeding plumage and was calling to attract a mate.

Wonderful colors, Nate.  The shape of the head in profile really pops nicely against the light background.

A lovely portrait of this beauty, Nate.  I've just been reading about this species and the rather sad history of their relationship with us.  I like that you got a nice glimpse of the blue gape.
