I ran across this on 17 Mile Drive along the Monterey Peninsula Coast when we stopped at an overlook.  It posed very nicely for me and didn't seem shy at all.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600 mm, hand held, f/8, 1/2000, iso 1000, aperture priority, pattern metering, -2/3 EV.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped to 12.6 MP.  Taken at 8:23 am on March 8th.

Your comments and critiques are always appreciated.

Thanks for taking a look,

Really nice detail and light with this wren Dennis.  I love the intricate markings on the back feathers and the tail.  Also, a really nice neutral gray BG to show it off to full potential.

I agree with everything Ed said. The detail in the Wren is fantastic as well as the composition.

Excellent comp.  I really like the contrast between the rock and the sky.  It makes the bird pop.

Beautiful rock he chose and wonderful detail Dennis, I might just place him a bit higher in the frame but taking a bit off the top. devil

Nice detail and pose.  Clean, complimentary background.  I agree with Nate that this might be an even stronger composition with the bird moved up in the frame.
