Focus stacking can bring really nice results, but since I don't know how and haven't the software, I stick with tradition and manually focus at close range and small aperture, wait for the calm and hope I can get something presentable. Lately I've been using the Wimberley for these. Although the rig is a bit heavier and taller, it's clutched action makes for very easy controllable framing without drift. 95% of full frame with some minor post work.

Nicely planned and made. I think, if this were mine, I would be tempted to lose the white blobs.

Bill: I'm a single capture guy too so I appreciate the difficulties encountered with this type of capture. I agree with Phil regarding the light spots in the LLC but they're certainly not game breakers for me. Nicely crafted image.>=))>

Very nice and excellently sharp, Bill.  I think some softening of some of the BG elements could help overall. Great little, colorful blooms and you captured them nicely.

Really nice image.  Detail, lighting, color, DOF, comp all spot on.  Darkening the light area in the lower left would keep it from drawing my eye a bit too much.

Lovely Bill!  The colors and lighting are excellent.  Great detail and good background.  The depth is just right, as is the POV.  I agree about darkening the whitish spots in the lower left, but otherwise looks great!
