Lights, Camera, Action!

Definitely, an action photo.  I loved the action and the colors in this photo.  Unless extended, one tends to forget all the nuances of blues and beiges plus pinks, that are in the feathers of this common bird.

I think, that the wind that day actually helped.  The blurred leaves and bokeh give the BG a watercolor feel, that I liked.

I, also, gave this a frame with the colors, that I thought were brought out the most in this pose.

Awesome action pose.  Consider using the shadow tool to bring out more detail in the shaded head?

Really nice action and a great pose, Lucy.  The bird has a slightly smeary look to the plumage-was this a fairly large crop?  I've seen a lot of JPG images that were heavily cropped have that look.  I like the lighting and composition a lot.

This was taken from pretty far away and it WAS an action shot, so it may not have been in perfect focus.   The farther away, the less steady my hands are cheeky  And, I (shutterspeed) wasn't ready for action!   But, it is still one of my favorites, as I love the pose and the colors.

Almost forgot...there were a TON of tiny twiggy branches all around him, so I may have overcloned and made him more soft.
