I can never seem to go to Ridgefield without spending some time with these.  They have such lovely rich plumage and tend to hang out in places with really photogenic backgrounds.  Wlike singing poses are nice, I didn't have enough light to keep the beak from blurring, so I settled for this pose.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 313 mm, balanced on pipe insulation on window, f/8, 1/160, iso 2000, aperture priority, pattern metering, +1/3 EV.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped to 8.5 MP from a horizontal original.  Taken at 8:13 am on February 10th.

Your comments and critiques are always appreciated.

Thanks,

Wow ISO 2000 with a 7D2 with acceptable levels of noise!  I can never seem to pass these guys up either.  Perhaps a little more detail in the blacks?

Very nice shot of a red winged. Recently I tried to get a good shot of some, but not happy with the results. I would be more than happy with a result like this.

Great shot Dennis.  Great comp. Might suggest increasing contrast or toning to bring out the feathers a bit.  You have a great eye.  Keep up the good work

Beautiful Red-Wing, Dennis.  Great detail in the feathers, and that perch as well as the background just makes this an even better shot.  I am excited that the 7Dii can shoot this well at ISO 2000, because I just bought one last month, and have shot with it some, but not too much with the weather being like it has been.  Anyway, you sure nabbed this shot well.
