Great Egret

Another image from Ridgefield this past Saturday.  The last few years, I've had good opportunities with this species, but they were relatively sparse last Saturday and this is the only one that gave me any opportunities at all.  Even though it was slightly over the crest of the berm, I liked it's pose, particularly the way it works with the wave of the grass behind it.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 347 mm, balanced on pipe insulation on car window, f/8, 1/2000, iso 800, aperture priority, pattern metering, -1/3 EV.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped to a 14.8 MP 4x5.  Taken at 9:59 am last Saturday.

Your comments and critiques are always appreciated.

Thanks,

Really nice detail in the feathers and the grasses close by the egret Dennis. As Phil said, nice white management.  Also nice action of a very deliberate stride.

Superb job on this one.  Really like the comp, detail, and color balance.
