Here is another piece of rock, dont know if this can be called a Tafoni. These rocks get exposed when the tides recede. I wasnt prepared for this kind of a situation, had no idea of what I was going to shoot at the beach ...evening sun set light. The white powdery substance could be salt/calcium deposits, when the sea receds.

The textures here are excellent. The right 2/3 looks a little dark. If you brightened that part up some I think that would work better. I like the muted browns and greens.

I like Preston's suggestions, Balin. Those couple of tweaks would elevate this another notch. I like the muted colors and the lack of scale here.

What a frightening image. Nostrils. Skulls. Ghouls. An image from the underworld. I like it. I think you've expressed it wonderfully. I wouldn't change the tones or colors one bit. There are other compositions in there but this works fine. The lrc seems out of it a bit.

The larger image worked better for me; it almost made it seem like something alive was going to crawl out of there. Yeah, the lack of scale gives a mysterious feel to this. I agree with Igor; this kinda gives me the creeps the more I look at it. It's scary!
