Late Fall Color

I haven't been out shooting in a while, so I'm going through the archives. I liked the little bit of really late (November 27, 2015) fall color mixed in with the bare trees, and the bits of light and shadow on the land.

I thought that I had posted this here, but it's not in my gallery, so maybe not. My apologies if you've already seen this.

Peek-a-boo yellows. I like this Craig. The autumn color really pops out from all the bare branches. I also like the sunny and shaded areas.

I like the way the color stands out from the bare trees, but I it feels like the colorful trees and lake are cutoff and leave me feeling like I want to see more of them.  I am on the fence about this one.

What a lovely sunny autumn day.  Those yellow needles still clinging to the tamaracks, and the rich greens of the pines make a colorful focal point in this composition.  I the bare hardwoods, I really like the shadow on leaf-covered ground on the other side of the water.  I think if this were mine, I would concentrate on those things in the upper 2/3 of the composition; cropping off the bottom to make a 4x5 horizontal composition.

Craig,

Really enjoying the starkness of the bare trees, very  late autumn, but also the design. Excellent lines, shadows and shapes taking the eye back and forth, up and down - very comfortably.  If anything, I'm leaning towards a crop off the bottom Wayne. That way there's a nice balance of all the shapes, design, light, shadow, etc.

I suppose you could down down the bright, pale yellows in the trees, but that's minor.

I agree with the suggestions to crop some off the bottom, Craig. What I like about this image is the zigzagging lines coming down from the top plus the remaining bit of fall color. Cropping from the bottom emphasizes both a bit more.
