Olympus TG-4 @ 18mm
ISO 200, 1/320 @ f6.3
Our initial foray off the boat (Wilderness Adventurer) in a kayak in Endicott Arm. I bought the little Olympus for its RAW capability and waterproofing. Came in handy while in the kayaks although as I got more confident I did take out a DSLR later in the trip in a dry bag. I found the TG-4 to be very competent although a little hard to handle with gloves on. All comments welcome. Please view LARGE.>=))>

Very effective composition, with the ice in the foreground, and the shop dwarfed by the impressive landscape, Bill.
Shooting from a kayak or canoe is a wonderful way to get views unattainable almost any other way.  Sounds like a wonderful adventure!  Thanks for sharing.

Hi Bill

Kudos to you for taking photos from  kayak!  I have found it to be very difficult.  The boat is always rocking.  I have found that increasing shutter speed and having a higher f stop than I normally would helps a great deal.

This is a very nice shot and I like the way the scree (avalanche chute in winter???), leads your eye to the boat.  The ice chunks in the foreground definitely give a sense of place and cold.

I do wonder if your water line is level, it looks a little off to me.  Also, are you able to get a little more detail out of the snow?  The highlights look like they could be blown out.
