Bobcat on Ice

"So my butt is frozen to the ice. You wanna make something of it?" A week of snow and ice make for some interesting pictures in almost snow free Savannah. The bobcat looked a little frazzled, but she was just stopping for a cleaning. I don't know how she got so damp!

Thanks for looking and any comments/critiques!

Any capture of a wild bobcat is special. He does indeed look a little miserable. Love those eyes. The techs look good. Nicely done.

Poor cold kitty!  Looks miserable Phil. It does look like the extremities are suffering greatly. Nice light coming in on the ice and really nice detail in the fur. Great shot.

That is a wet cat!!! Great image.  You really caught "the look" of a cat that's not really happy.
Well done.

Wonder what brought about this "cattitude"? She probably wasn't accustomed to ice and fell through getting very wet. Like all cats in such situations, she could either nonchalantly  clean like nothing happened or dare you to say anything about what happened. At least, that's my idea about her posture and expression. Whatever, this is as fine an image of a bobcat as I have seen. Excellent capture.

Migratory Coots have come into the Savannah NWR in numbers. I suspect she went after one, as there was a crowd of them not too far from there. I didn't see any feathers, so she probably missed.

Pretty unique for any sort of bobcat photo.  I've seen plenty of shots in the snow, but I like the icy surroundings here.  The patterns in the wet fur are also quite striking!

This is a wonderful environmental shot, Phil.  A Bobcat in Georgia is not use to this kind of weather, and it shows in its face and posture.  The wet fur and hunched shoulders with a floor of ice just say it all.  Nice work on this.

Wonderful opportunity, Philip, and one you managed well.  This will give you pleasure for a long time.  I see no nits and I sincerely hope you managed several good frames from this encounter!

Nice eye contact and detail.    I never would have guessed that this was captured in Georgia

Phil, this is wonderful!  It is incredibly unique and incredibly beautiful.  I don't know whether you get any prints made for your home, but if you do I think you should definitely consider getting a large print of this one.

This is great Phil, super expression on the cat, he/she seems to be saying "what are you looking at" , the wet fur has great texture.

A very unique capture Phil. As had been said in many of the previous comments, any shot of a Bob is special. But the unusual weather you've experienced in the South recently offered a superb photo opportunity, and you nailed it! Terrific shot!
