Holiday Fireworks

Holiday Fireworks in my hometown, Golden, Colorado.  The "M" up there in the air is on a mountain and it stands for Colorado School of Mines.  Golden makes a huge deal out of the Christmas holiday with a parade and tree lighting the 2nd Friday after Thanksgiving and Santa parades every Saturday thereafter.  This was taken over frozen Clear Creek and the lights on the right side are along the Clear Creek Trail.

Technical:  D 300, 10-24 mm lens at 24 mm, ISO 200, 2.4 sec at f13, tripod with cable release.

Regards to all and Happy New Year(a bit late!).

I love this one Kathy. Beautiful colors and light along the creek and with the fireworks. The lit people really give a great sense of space and perspective. The barely lit branches give a nice sense of place.  Excellent.

Really nice image - sharp fireworks, a good sense of perspective, and great colours.

Excellent, Kathy. Lots of great elements led by the gorgeous fireworks bursts, which perfectly fill the sky. This would make a great local holiday card and the image also has good potential for promoting the area's travel and tourism. Well done.

This is a wonderful shot of your holiday festivities. The people in the photo really make this one for me, since they give it a sense of scale and human interest. Your exposure looks very nice here and the fireworks came out looking just right. The purple river is really something!

Kathy,

Awesome fireworks and holiday image in general.  Looks like a great way to enjoy the holidays with the family.  Love the fireworks, great job capturing them.

Lovely! Great color and a nice composition. I would be tempted to clone out the red 'M', otherwise, this works very well.
