This is from Bolsa Chica at dawn a few weeks back. This Snowy Egret had staked out this little channel at the end of this tuft of bushes. Sun was just about to come up through a thin layer of Coastal haze. Canon 60D, f5.6, 1/50 sec, iso 800, -2 EV, 100-400 ISLii at 400 mm, glad the egret stayed so still during this shot.

This is actually a very pleasing composition and I'm surprised that no one has commented on it yet.  Nice color and the bird is placed perfectly with the superb reflection.  I might fool around with the crop a little and perhaps cut half of the distance from the bottom of the frame to the bottom of the reflection just to see what it looked like.    Bolsa Chica looks like a great place to take bird photos and your images from there are done well.

Lovely sunrise colors reflected in the water, Ed.a  The pose and reflection of the egret are nice and detail looks good.  When I look at the image, the Egret seems to be overpowered by the vegetation behind it and my eye gets drawn toward the "skyline" of the shrubbery against the water.
