Old Man of the Sea

A very old Sea Lion, hauled up on the rocks to rest from the hard work of catching salmon.  I was able to get close enough for a nice portrait shot that showed his age.

Sony a6500, FE100400GSM @ 192mm, ISO-400, f/6.3, 1/500, hand held.

Really nice detail.  I looked long at the larger version (and recommend that all viewers view that version.)  The only thing I could see as suggested improvement is that a single long whisker is cut off on the bottom edge of frame...and it would be ever slightly better if we could see it all! enlightened

Hi Gary,

The whiskers are impressive and they must come in handy for feeling around for salmon.  I like the pose and the expression on the sea lion's face.......................Jim

Lon is absolutely right about looking at the larger version with this one. Extraordinary detail and fantastic gaze from the "Old Man" here Gary. He looks like he has fed very well this year.
