Harley,
Soft, supple and as you call it, sensuous. Great job with the pano crop - emphasizing the lines and gentle curves as well as the layers of light and soft shadows.
Speaking of soft, the large view seems a bit soft to me. I expect though that it may have been windy and there's blowing sand along surface of the dunes? I'm mostly basing this on the top dune and edge. Also, the contrast isn't all that high which could be contributing what I think I'm seeing.
I still think this is a great dune image, although not as strong as many of your other images from DV.

Harley,
I see your image as sensuous with a capitol S. Evocative of the human form, it's perfect in b & w, with shadows and light giving life to the illusion.

Sensuous indeed. In fact I blush at it's boldness every time I've looked. For me this works better than the colored version where the blue sky got in the way a bit. How to improve this? Well, you could lighten the white line that forms the edge of the lowest dune on the left. That would make that edge stand out all the way to the frame. I can see other comps in here but none seem any stronger than this. Good work.
PS I also see a Thanksgiving turkey in there.

The tonal values and the strong and, yes, sensual curves are wonderful. There may be some very slight softness along the to edge, but it is certainly very minor. The contrast is perfect. No nits here.

Beautiful lines and tones, awesome lighting. Not sure how to improve - maybe a slight crop off the left to exclude the bright area in the middle dune. Would create a little balance to the right intersecting line of the middle dune. Excellent job on this.

Sensuous is right!!! If I were still in college I might have this image plastered on the ceiling in my bedroom! So glad you produced this in B&W; it's perfect for that. I really don't notice the softness that Lon mentioned; but even if it is I would rather it be a little soft rather than a little crispy given the sensuous form. The contrast seems a little lower than many of the images taken in DV but, in this case, I think that's a good thing as it really sets the mood perfectly. Great eye to see this and capture it and process it so wonderfully. Well done!
