I'm pretty sure i posted this one as I seem to recall some debate over the piece of vine hanging down, which I like.  I think this is partly my favorite, because I've been hoping to get a decent image of one for quite a few years (since I first saw one around 2009).  I also think it's a pretty decent image technically and the bird is just beautiful.

Dennis, you did post this one, and I can see why it's a favorite. Thanks for posting it again.

Dennis, well this guy looks like he's all dressed up and has places to go wearing those super long tails. I really like the little red colored shoulder epaulets too. It seems to be a nice addition to his Class A uniform......sad

A clean take on this wonderful Flycatcher. I agree with you on the hanging vein which works into the scene just fine.....enlightened

Dennis, this is such an amazing find! Beautiful Bird and the composition and colors are wonderful too. There is a balancing act going on with the twisting and weaving of the barbed wire and vine and those long tail feathers.  Oh to one day see one, another bucket list wish. What a beauty and you are correct all elements fell together nicely.

The details are excellent, Dennis.  There's an intriguing sense of softness in the bird that contrasts well with the harshness of the barbed wire.  While not having the vine would make a great bird portrait, it's addition adds a fine touch of real world action as it creates the idea that this bird is building it's nest.

I love these flycatchers Dennis. I also love the pose, perch and BG of this one. We are hoping to get a look at a few this Spring when we visit South Texas.
