I was wandering rather aimlessly late one afternoon looking for a grand mountain landscape and came back with this instead.
Icefield Parkway, Banff.
P.S. I meant to clone out that bright brown foliage on the left.

Hi Kah Kit
It looks so completely Scottish. Nice soft light a picture that simplifies the chaos of a woodland scene.

This a pastoral mood. I am a little on the fence with the patch of sky, but that is minor. This works nicely for me.

Kah Kit you have handled the exposure perfectly here. I also like the sense of being pulled into the scene, and I'm good with including the patch of open sky in the scene, it gives your eye a place to rest on after wandering through the scene. Not a lot of snow here, what month was this image taken?

An interesting winter scene. The way the branches are angled and with the opening in the middle I have a strong sense of being physically pulled forward. Weird feeling.

Looks like a excellent Plan B to me Kah. I always like these intimate kind of scenes and the freshly fallen snow has imparted a wonderful pristine mood to this image. The bit of warmth on the couple of tree trunks on the right lends another nice element to this.

Kah Kit,
I get a distinct feeling of this being a zoomed-in image - the way the tree branches are laid out on either side and with the opening down the center. And with that opening there is a real gentle lead-in to this composition which works very well.
Not quite a dynamic landscape, but a very pleasing and enjoyable winter scene.
I know those times when "wandering around aimlessly." Out west, we call it the "Harley Daze." It's been known to be catchy and easily spreads to other photographers - and there is no known cure. Be careful out there.

I get the sense of flying thru the forest and the open sky in the center gives me an escape route. Photography by wandering around is a wonderful affliction.

Cool. This looks a lot like Alaska.
Definitely get the feeling of walking through the woods...I like that. And you get the feeling of movement, too.
Nice one.

I can relate to wandering around aimlessly and it is indeed named the "Harley Daze" by certain low-life elements known to hang around NPN forums. Your image is a peaceful and serene winter scene. My eye does tend to jump from the foreground bushes to the bright patch of sky rather than to the beautiful trees where I want it to go. But it is a nice look at the beauty of winter (something in short supply around Melbourne - many years ago I hung out quite a bit in Coldstream and Lilydale).
