Not sure this is my best photo of 2017, but it is one of my faves.  I had planned on shooting Haystack Rock, the iconic sea stack of Cannon Beach, but there was an outgoing tide around sunset and many visitors were walking along the shoreline so I decided to focus on the more distant Needles instead.  This image was the last one I took that evening about 30 minutes after sunset.

Paula, this is a lovely look at the afterglow that appears following a clear sky sunset.  The glowing colors are terrific with the silhouetted sea stacks adding lots of interest and a nice stretch of reflective water at the bottom.  It's easy to see why this is a favorite.

Lovely colors and dramatic scene with the dark rocks. I like silhouettes in this case and feel this is a powerful image.

I like the point of view of this image.  The silhouetted shapes fit in well with the color balance, foreground water and background explosion of colors.

Beautiful, Paula.  I love the orange glow and the arrangement of the needles works well.
