Another shot from a hide in Kaeng Krachan. I was in the hide for several hours having skipped lunch at the Lodge so I wouldn't miss any birds that showed up. Towards the latter part of the day the activity had dwindled down, when out from nowhere this  vibrantly colored bird descended into the bird bath and started bathing. The intensity of the bird's coloration jolted me from my late day haze, and I was ale to take this image of him calling as he perched on a log after his bath.

What a cool looking bird, Chuck.  Superb detail.  I can understand spending all day in that blind.  While it's a very minor point, I'd be tempted to do something to reconstruct the very tip of the tail where it's obscured by some oof blob.  If you have another shot showing the tip at roughly the same angle, it should be pretty easy.

Great shot of this incredibly beautiful bird.  Great pose and super sharp.  I agree with Dennis, it would be nice if you could mend the end of that tail.

Gosh! I wish Green Magpies were more common in our neck of the woods. As usual, Chuck, your photo technique is exemplary and ISO 4000, no less. This shot is stupendous – patience was rewarded in catching this flamboyant tropicopolitan.
