I went back to Ridgefield yesterday to shoot more hawks.  While it was a sunny day, it was well below freezing the whole day and there was less action.  Almost all the water was frozen keeping the waterfowl away.  I did manage to get a few more hawk images.

Iso-1600, 600 mm +1.4 extender, F9, 3200th, D 500, car window and beanbag, 75% full frame, DxO optics lab, ACR 10, Topaz adjust, TK sharpening action at 50%

David, you've been getting some great harrier images lately, this one being my favorite so far.  The bird got pretty close to you, it is really sharp, great exposure, and complimentary background.  I am envious as I have a lot of harrier shots, but none as sharp as yours.  Not sure how you follow them so well from the car window and on a beanbag!

Very nice closeup on this girl David. Detail is great in the large version. Light is really nice and the BG is just blurred enough not to be distracting.

You're really nailing the Harriers, David.  This is another excellent image.  Well Done.

Hi David,

Excellent capture with good DOF and softer BG. Large version has some nice details and the colors are pretty awesome.  Well done.......................Jim
