Bridalveil Falls Gold

Lon posted almost the same composition a week or two ago, but it had much different light and a faster shutter speed. This is my take on the falls.

Lon's version is here:

I think this one your nicest shots of Bridalveil. The golden glow and nice detail in the wall is excellent. The water looks perfect to me, and your choice of shutter speed really shows the flow of the water very well. Nicely done!

Harley,

Amazing, the difference between the two images.  I love your rendition; both in the flow of the water and especially in the golden warmth of the rock. And I never have noticed this before until just now - but in studying this more closely, I see green moss growing which adds a subtle, but pleasing element to this.

LOVE this version and wish I had come away with this.  Our two images were probably no more than 15min apart?

Have to disagree with Preston that this may be your nicest Bridal Veil image - I'd say it's one of the best Bridal Veil images I've seen from any photographer! (At least of the closeup variety... not counting double rainbow images from Tunnel View....) enlightened laugh

Excellent one, Harley. The lighting is exquisite and adds a lot of depth and interest. Framing and processing look spot-on to me. Only thought would be to experiment with cooling the color temp a touch in the shadow area in the lower right to achieve more color contrast.

I love the warm light and the way it brings out the details and textures in the rock face, Harley. SS choice looks good to me also. My only suggestion; and this is being super picky; would be to burn down or clone the light rock in the URC as it draws my eye from the power of the falls. Not a big deal as this is wonderful as is.

Nice intimate fall..
The colors are really well done, muted and golden.
I might get rid of a few highlights int he upper RHC.

After seeing Lon's version it's interesting how this looks under sunlight. The warm colors on the stone wall make this image for me.

Harley, some superb detail throughout. A truly well crafted capture from this often photographed area in YNP. As already pointed out the light really makes this particular take from this spot very special.
No thoughts for change at all.......devil

Harley, very dramatic image with a lot of impact. I love the warm light on the rocks and water. I especially like the green moss in the upper right corner. But as someone else mentioned I would remove the white highlights in the rocks above the moss. I also think Dave offers a great suggestion about cooling the shadows to create more color contrast.

Harley, the glowing rocks are set of beautifully by the white veil of falling water behind.  The lighting is wonderful.
