Jaguar Hunting

Although our boat tours in the Pantanal looking for Jaguar's started a bit slow, our first two sightings were just Jaguar parts hidden in the bushes and a leg hanging from a tree branch. We finally had several excellent opportunities to photograph Jaguars as they stalked and hunted along the river banks, including this beautiful female. We thought she had a cub hidden somewhere nearby, so we spent some time in the area hoping to see them together, unfortunately we lost track of her and didn't see her again.

All your comments and suggestions are very much appreciated.

Love the intensity in the jaguar Ken. I also love that she is coming your direction in this one. Beautiful light and detail.

Seeing a cub would've been amazing, huh?  I like the angle here, Ken.  I imagine some might find the rightmost grass distracting, but I like that it adds an extra layer of depth to this image.

Ken: you've captured the intensity in this Jaguar exceptionally. There's excellent detail in the cat and the exposure is spot on. Richard

Gorgeous cat.  The quartering into us, stalking pose is terrific.  Your techs are very pleasing with rich but natural feeling color.  My only wish would have been for a wee bit of space bottom for her to be moving towards, yet given the vegetation there, this might have been the best option.
