Spotted Owlets

We left the lodge for a road trip one moring during our stay at Baan Maka to look for Spotted Owlets. At first we had some trouble finding the area they were reportedly nesting, but after about 30 minutes or so we found them. Initially I saw only one owlet poking his head out from the top of the cavity, but shortly he was joined by his sibling.

Very nice. The yellow of the eyes pulls in my attention.

I love this! What great eyes and expressions!
You might consider getting rid of the multiple catchlights in the eyes.
Very nice image!

Charles: I don't think you could have had a better arrangement of the owlets if you had posed them. The photo is a delight to look at. Richard

The lower bird just peeking over the edge makes this image super cute, Chuck.  Excellent job on the dof and choice of focus location to get both owlets and the front of the stump in nice crisp focus.  Very well done.

Such a cool image.  Outstanding setting and I love the eyes peaking just above the cavity.  My only suggestion would be to selectively darken the brighter spots in the background.  However, outstanding as is.

This is outstanding as posted. Love those eyes. I was wondering what ever happened to Kilroy.

Charles

This is just adorable!  I love the eyes, especially of the owl looking directly at the camera.  Great capture!

A cute behavioral photo.  Nice job on getting sharp focus on the owls.  Good color and detail.  I'm really not bothered by the extra catch lights.

Wow! Those poses really make this one special, Chuck. I love the shy, cautious posture of the lower one. Excellent timing, quality and very entertaining to boot. Kudos to you!

Sweet shot Chuck, these guys were so much fun.  I am surprised at the amount of depth of field you got at F4.5 but it worked out well here.  The birds looking in different directions and the bird just peeking out make the shot.  devil
