Nice flight shot of these, Sandy. As a composite though the angle of light on the birds is significantly different from the BG.

Bill, I can't control the light - these 2 images were taken less than a second apart, so the light you see is the light that was there.
In Hawaii, light often reflects off the clouds in odd ways. In this case, the far distant clouds had brighter light, and the area the birds and I were in was under a dark cloud.
