Like how the vertical reflection merges with the horizontal branch. The barker water really makes the branch stand out.

I like this very much, Harley. The large version on my screen shows this much better on my screen. There are numerous short streaks up top that run sideways that show up better in the large version. The add a bit of tension to the vertical trees and that enriches the composition. Very nice. You could do a horizontal 4X5 at the bottom but that may overly simplify things. A fine image indeed.

This is sweet, Harley. I love the vertical lines and the nice curve of the old branch. The tones look very good, and allow the reflected tree and branch to stand out nicely from the darker background and water. Well done, sir!

Killer, Mr. Harley, just killer.  Hope you got your printin' machine running cause this needs it  badly.   Excellent.

This is intriguingly stark, Harley, with a fine contrast between the slightly soft reflections and the clean, sharp branch in the water.  I find that cropping the darkness on the left with the branch centered an interesting alternative (not sure about better...).

Wonderful image.  The reflections are perfect.  I like the stark in focus curved foreground branch contrasted with the trees in the background.  I can see this hanging large on a very public wall.

Very nice. The vertical reflections combined with the horizontal branch give this a strong abstract quality. Framed well as presented but I could see experimenting with taking a bit off the left for an alternate comp.

Ooo, likey.  Something is a bit odd about the left 1/8 being just black.  Feels a bit unblanced on that side. Could see the reflection branch being centered too?

I like the light on dark contrast of this. My initial thought, like some others, was that the darker left side was too heavy and centering the curved branch would be good, but I played around with some crops and it just doesn't have the same feel. I do like this as is. Nice B&W processing, as well.

Harley, I'll have to say this might be the top of my list for favorites of yours. Many others of course on the list, but this one is exceptional for my tastes.
Like others fighting cropping thoughts I could play around there for different looks as well, but the original here is too good to think that is only "optional" looks and they may not share the same impact this one here does.
Very well seen, photographed, and B&W processed as well.......devil

I love this Harley. There is a great sense of depth -- almost infinite depth when I look into the frame. The illusion is only broken when I study the bent branch and the effect is startling and very enjoyable.

Compositions like this one are clever because they depict the scene in a way that makes it interesting on several levels. Great work!

I like this a LOT Mr. H.  I like the tension and pull between the horizontal, soft, curved and exposed limb (and it's own reflection) and the vertical length of the reflected alter(?)  This is a wonderful reflection image, beautifully seen and captured.  For me, the Merced is merely the canvas upon which the vertical reflection and exposed limb are presented.

I'm torn about whether or not I think this needs more contrast in the upper reflection. Of course that's the author's call, I'm just thinking out loud.  Excellent job as presented.
