Great Egret

Another one from Ridgefield in the fog.  Just working it's way along the top of the berm across a channel from the road.  I liked the way the background looked in the viewfinder, so I opened my aperture to f/5.6 to get that effect.  Since the bird was nice enough to move parallel to me I still had plenty of dof.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 267 mm, beanbag on car window, f/5.6, 1/1600, iso 800, aperture priority, pattern metering, -2/3 EV.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped to a 4x5, full height.  Taken at 9:33 am on November 18th.

Your comments and critiques are always appreciated.

Thanks,

The fog treated you well, giving that understated BG tone. The bird itself is well exposed with good feather detail and excellent white control.

Another one of your neat images from Ridgefield Dennis, you captured the foggy mood wonderfully.

Beautiful shot, Dennis.  The fog did help mute the background that was probably a bit closer to the subject than you would have wanted, which would have caused some distraction.  Nice shot just as it is.

The light on this one is really nice.  I think the fog has created appropriate mood and softened the lighting.  Nice composition and detail.
