Bird Guide Photo
by Dennis Plank
The way they should be in the bird guides with the bird half-hidden the way it's usually seen. I'm sure most folks won't find this one very satisfying, but I have a twisted liking for this kind of image. I worked this bird on all three loops I made around the Ridgefield driving loop last Saturday and there was no angle that gave a clear shot.
7DIII, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600 mm, beanbag on car window, f/6.3, 1/500, iso 800, aperture priority, pattern metering, -2/3 EV to keep from completely blowing out the sky patches. Processed in LR& PS CC. Selective adjustments to the bird. Cropped from a horizontal original to a 10.7 6x7 vertical. Taken at 10:00 am on November 18th.
